QA – ETL

Hybrid NYC: 3 days/week in-office + 2 days/week remote

The QA with ETL Consultant will be responsible for performing functional and regression testing.

• Very well-versed in scrum methodology
• QA methodology (understanding the diff in functional/regression/integration testing
• SQL queries
• Experience with Unix a plus
• Strong communication skills
• Hands-on experience in writing test cases, test scenarios and documentation

Responsibilities:

• Develop Test Plan and Test Strategy documents
• Develop test cases for functional testing
• Perform functional, regression, system end to end testing
• Report issues in Jira and provide appropriate issue escalation
• Generate test execution reports on a daily basis during the testing phase
• Participate in Scrum meetings

Required Skills:

• 6+ years’ experience with testing methodology and techniques
• 3+ years’ experience hands on testing in ETL
• 5+ years in SQL
• Understanding of good testing principles including negative testing.
• Solid understanding of Scrum framework (sprints, stories, velocity)
• Strong understanding of MySQL, Oracle SQL, or any other relational database
• Strong analysis and follow up skills is a MUST
• Ability to sit in user meetings
• Experience with Jira/Confluence for bug tracking and documentation
• Experience with TestRail, or any other test management tool
• Proven ability to formulate and execute test plans and test cases
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills

EDUCATON and/or EXPERIENCE:

• BA/BS in Computer Science, Information Systems, or other related field or relevant experience.
• A minimum of 5 years’ QA experience performing functional and regression testing
• A minimum of 5 years’ experience with relational databases (SQL queries, Oracle, MS SQL, or MySQL).

Rate $50 - $57 per hour
