The Product Manager, Hotel Reservation System will support and lead cross-functional teams responsible for delivering and evolving our Central Reservations System. This role converts the product strategy and strategic initiatives into well-developed initiative, objectives, and features to modernize and evolve our app. The product manager will be creating product business requirements and definitions, managing the implementation and evolution of the product development cycle, and collaborating with various teams to bring new product features/capabilities to market. The Product Manager anticipates/understands the needs of its target market and customers, anticipates changing demands, and shapes business, product and investment strategies. A critical element is the development and continued maintenance of strong relationship with a variety of different organizations including but not limited to Product Team, R&D, Customer Care (including systems support), Business Analysts, UX, Sales/Commercial, and Go to Market.

  • Profound Knowledge of the hospitality industry: providers, travel agencies, technology, trends, strategy
  • Hotel distribution industries: hotel suppliers, distribution channels
  • Hotel Revenue Management
  • An excellent knowledge of the hotel revenue management landscape and concepts including Central Reservation Systems (CRS) and Property Management Systems (PMS) systems a plus.

Product Strategy & Roadmap Planning – a CRS Product:

  • Support in the creation of the CRS product vision & strategy
  • Translate the product strategy into a concrete execution plan/ product roadmap / initiatives to ensure fulfillment of short, mid and long-term business objectives
  • Source and shape priorities from across the organization and target customer base to develop and maintain a product roadmap that delivers continuous business impact and value
  • Interface with key stakeholders (Sales, Operations, R&D, etc.) and maintain the pulse of the changing customer and industry demands and influence overall commercial strategy for new product enhancements and capabilities
  • Drive customer research and leverage insights to create product features, customer adoption & satisfaction

Product Development – a CRS Product:

  • Lead the creation and completeness of business requirements for product development and drives adherence of the requirements through the product development process ensuring delivery in line with client and market commitments
  • Leads the balance of business needs with technology assessments, and recommends alternative technical approaches to meet design requirements when needed
  • Controls and coordinates priorities given to products, projects and developments and secures deliveries to meet business targets.
  • Partners with engineering to drive technical projects and provide leadership in the development process, setting scope, and ensuring effective prioritization of features & stories, managing daily progress, and defining acceptance criteria
  • Communicates the product vision to ensure product delivery is aligned with strategy.
  • Runs regular leadership updates and build consensus in Enterprise Platform investment decision making

Product Management Organization

  • Collaborate to improve our product management process and lifecycle
  • Collaborate in the continued innovation of our agile product development process
  • Support in evangelizing product management process and lifecycle with key stakeholders across the organization

Go To Market Enablement:

  • Lead cross-functional teams to drive value of delivered product capabilities including:
    • Effective communication of new products/product changes and their associated customer, operational, system, & process impacts,
    • Supporting organization wide product training and enablement, contributing to the articulation of product value propositions, go to market strategy, pricing and impact to messaging for delivering products/services
